Why “No Record” Is Not a Clean Bill of Health
A theft may be recent, unreported, outside a participating insurer, recorded under a different identifier or not available to a public system. Cloned VINs can cause a legitimate VIN to appear clean while the physical vehicle is fraudulent. Use multiple checks and document inspection.

When the Florida License Plate Is Stolen
A stolen plate can be placed on another vehicle to evade tolls, cameras or police. Report the theft promptly, request replacement or cancellation through an official office and notify toll accounts. Keep the police report and replacement receipt for future citations or invoices.

Reporting a Suspected Stolen Vehicle
Provide the location, plate, state, VIN if safely visible, vehicle description, time, photos and reason for suspicion. Do not follow, block or confront the driver. For an immediate danger, call emergency services; otherwise use the local law-enforcement non-emergency channel.
